Halloween is almost here and it is time for all of the ghosts and ghouls to make their rounds. Halloween is a long time traditional holiday that is celebrated by most as a fun time to dress up as their favorite scary character. Some of the activities you will find during the Halloween season are Halloween parties, Haunted Houses, Trick-or-Treating, and many different festivals. It is an all around fun holiday that lets people indulge in imaginative creations, fun foods, and friendly gatherings, however, it is a time when there are more people than normal walking around and you have to be extra careful when driving about.
Whether you are a kid or an adult Halloween gives you an excuse to get creative and use all of your resources to transform yourself into the scariest creature you can imagine. You may be doing this to win a prize, get candy, or just scare a friend. Some people like to create their own costume by using old clothes and accessories found around the house and then complementing the attire with a scary make up job. Other’s with less time or creativity (some people are born with it some aren’t) like to buy their masks and costumes. Even when purchasing a mask and costume, you can still add flare by accessorizing with glow in the dark necklaces and other fun Halloween necklaces.
Once you are all dressed up and ready to haunt the night you will find yourself at one of many activities that occur during the Halloween season. Kids are most definitely going to make their rounds to all the houses in the neighborhood so that they can fill up their goody bag with an assortment of candy and other treats. Adults usually find themselves at an office party or a neighborhood party. Neighborhoods often get together and put on a local haunted house or haunted trail for everyone to enjoy. You may also find yourself in a costume contest hoping to win that big prize! No matter where you go, with the right mask and costume you are sure to have a grand time.
One thing that everyone has to keep in mind, (even if you are not celebrating Halloween)is the number of people out and walking about rises sharply. If you are driving around, you have to be aware of everything going on around you. Be very watchful of all side streets, driveways, and even parked cars. You never know where a child in costume may run out of. If you are out walking during Halloween, it is also your responsibility to watch for cars and other traffic. Also, do everyone a favor by making yourself highly visible. A popular way to do this is to carry a flashlight. If you do not want to carry a flashlight then you can choose another highly popular method and wear plenty of glow-in-the-dark accessories such as beads and necklaces. Halloween can be fun for everyone, if everyone remembers to take other people’s safety into consideration. Have a safe Halloween and we hope to see you at Toomey’s!
